Focus and Scope

AVERROES: Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance Studies is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing research in Islamic economics, banking, and finance. Guided by the vision of “Faith, Ethics, and Innovation in Islamic Finance,” the journal provides a platform for scholars and practitioners to publish original studies that integrate Sharia principles with contemporary economic and financial practices.

The journal covers a broad range of topics, including Islamic banking and financial instruments, halal investment, Islamic capital markets, risk management, zakat and waqf management, Islamic social finance, entrepreneurship and business ethics, as well as fintech, digital transformation, and global economic issues affecting Muslim communities. Interdisciplinary studies and empirical research that contribute to a just, inclusive, and sustainable Islamic economic system are also welcomed.

The journal adheres to COPE ethical standards, applies a double-blind peer-review process, accepts manuscripts in English and Arabic, and is published biannually.
