The Journal of Social Studies and Community Development (SOCDEV) is an academic journal that focuses on research and studies in the fields of social sciences, society, and community development. It serves as a platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to publish scientific works, innovative ideas, and critical reflections that contribute to social transformation and community empowerment. The journal’s scope includes studies on social issues and societal change, participatory community empowerment, and sustainable development aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It also covers topics such as public policy, good governance, and social advocacy; social entrepreneurship and community-based innovation; local wisdom and its role in social development; as well as the strengthening of civil society, democracy, and social justice. SOCDEV is published biannually, in January and July.
